St. Anselm
Saint Anselm’s prayer is a cry for God to be the deepest desire of our hearts. Each line appeals to truths found in scripture reminding reciters of its authority and calling for their reliance on God and His word as the foundation of their lives.
The prayer reminds believers like us to align their hearts with God’s will as it is found in His holy word in order to be better equipped to know and follow the Lord. It is useful in preparing our minds to understand and accept the truths of the Bible.
