Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding
Human sight and understanding are limited, yet God sees and knows infinitely more than we do. So He instructs us to put our trust in Him, even when we think our ways make sense. Wholehearted trust is faith put into action.
Consider Abraham’s famous faith (Genesis 15:6). God tested Abraham’s faith by commanding that he sacrifice his son, Isaac (Genesis 22:1-2). Trusting in the Lord, Abraham obeyed, tying Isaac to the altar and raising the knife, believing that God would raise him (Hebrews 11:17-19). God rewarded Abraham’s trust by providing a ram as a substitute (Genesis 22:9-14). We find too, when we trust God’s wisdom over our own, that His path always leads to our good, and to His glory.
