"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

The Apostle Paul entreated the Philippians, and all believers throughout the ages, not to be anxious about anything. Why? Because God is sovereign over everything. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) Therefore, in every situation that might result in anxiety, we must pray and bring our requests to God, thanking Him and trusting Him as our great Provider.

Why should we be anxious and full of worry when God On High is our Father? Does He not take care of the poor, the weak, the widow, and the orphan? Then pray, Paul says, in every situation. Pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18). He who is Almighty, the one who brings all things together for good (Romans 8:28), is the one who will meet all your needs.
