The righteous person may have many troubles,

but the Lord delivers him from them all;

In this psalm, David celebrates his divine rescue from harm. He reminds us that God hears the cries of the righteous in times of trouble and that He faithfully answers. For God did not save us and impart His righteousness on us through Jesus only to leave us to deal with the difficulties of life on our own. Rather, He remains with us in all situations.

But we must understand that God does not promise us a trouble-free life. In fact, He reminds us that there is a cost to following Him. When we follow His path of righteousness, we find ourselves at odds with the ways of the world, and this is bound to invite trouble. But even in the midst of opposition, we have great hope because our God is faithful. And when He delivers us from trouble, the power and glory of God are revealed in our lives.
