Paul concludes here with words of encouragement. During his time with them, Paul had seen the generosity of the Philippians, and he was confident that this generosity would be rewarded by the Lord. The same can be said for all of us. Giving to others and using our resources to fulfill the Lord’s purposes will result in His blessings.
The Lord will always ensure that all our needs are met. This is according to His definition and knowledge of our needs, however. What we might think of as riches may be nothing more than worldly desires. Living according to His plan is not always going to be easy. He is not going to shower us in wealth and worldly goods. However, He will ensure that we have what we truly need. In return for our generosity and faithfulness, He will provide for us and ensure we are never truly lacking.
