"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

These words were given as God’s promise to the Jews in Babylonian exile. They still ring true for us today, as God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). For every child of God, His plans are not for harm, but for good, for hope and a future.

While many twist this Scripture to bring themselves prosperity and take advantage of God’s grace, the ultimate end of this hope and future is through the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. We prosper as co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), and there is now no more condemnation (Romans 8:1). In Christ we have hope of gloryת and in Christ we have a future.
