Love is the hallmark of a true Christian. The Apostle John writes in 1 John 4:7 that whoever loves has been born of God and knows God, as love is from Him. He goes on to say that God is love. What an amazing truth, to know God is to know love! How can we not pray with reverence and gratitude for His amazing love?
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving us so magnificently that You died for us while we were yet sinners. Thank You for teaching us of this sacrificial love and for calling us to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves, as against such things there is no law. You have revealed it to us by Your Spirit, that love is the fulfillment of the law. Therefore, let us always be filled with gratefulness to You as our hearts overflow in love for You and for others.
